i hate widgets

so trying to incorporate the whole widget thing into the weight loss challenge is kind of stupid on my part. Trace and i took a bye on weighing in last week in that i was in texas and didn’t want to weigh on a different scale. that and the fact that we had an entire cow for dinner the night before.

 

in any event, trace is winning, the bastard!!! he has lost 6 pounds. i have lost a whole 1.4! total. including the first week. so, yeah, basically i am thrilled. short of sending cupcakes to traces house thru the mail, i’d better step up my game… PRONTO!

Those Darn Cats

If you can find this blog at all, you know I am a co-host on “Those Darn Cats”, a Disney podcast I produce every week with my BFF. It’s super fun and a really enjoyable and sometimes very time consuming hobby. It’s been a great ride, from our slightly weird and humble beginnings on another show, to our rebirth as a completely weird, yet still humble, podcast that we produce all by ourselves.

Back in the day, I would have near hypervenilatory fits each Sunday morning when our segment contributions “might” appear. How would I sound? What crazy thing did I say? Slowly, gradually, you get used to hearing your freakish voice coming out of the interwebs and every show you do and produce, you learn more and more.

Well, on this week’s TDC, I got to interview Miss Devon Dawson, a Western music performer, aficionado and, really, caretaker, of the genre. She is the voice of Jessie on the companion album to Toy Story 2, called Woody’s Round Up. The interview was great! She is so awesome, and, as I think the best interviews go, she had way more places to take me and tell me about than i even expected!!

In any event, despite all the wonderfulness, I am now wallowing in podcasters guilt about my editing capabilities and sound mixing skills. Ug. I truly hope folks will listen in and hear the cool stories and Texas Heritage Music knowledge she drops. And there’s yodeling!!

are disney stars dating each other?

dreams

in my dream last night, i lived…i’m not sure where, and there was an epcot park on the top of my building. one of those disney’s best kept secret deals i am sure.

in the dream, i remembered jennifer’s advice about not being disappointed by the epcot lobby. so i was reminding myself of this as i was admitted, from the apartment hall, through a door, into what looked liked a gigantic somewhat empty clinique cosmetic sales counter. many many opportunities to put your own face into a star wars picture (not epcot) and buy knick knacks (any disney park).

i looked to my right and saw that, on the rooftop, which was open to the sales area and apparently not visible from the human world on the street, were rides. being a dream of course, these were not epcot rides, but i am thinking more like paradise pier area type stuff. as i passed along the queue, i heard a guest tell a cast member “you should really put this place on a map!” the CM agreed.

oh, and maggie could come. only she was a pekingese.

how to annoy me

be the sheriff guy sitting in pre-op, supposedly “guarding” a prisoner awaiting surgery. be yakking on the phone. the hospital phone, out in the hallway. have the freakin’ phone cord streeeetttccched across the room so i and others may limbo underneath to get back and forth in the hallway. say “sorry ’bout that, DARLIN’” when i try to get around you.

dude. i’m workin’ here. apparently you are too. and no, i don’t want you to chat me up!
