some sad news out of marceline

got some sad news out of marceline last week, via andy the boy, and this is no silly joke…..

the dreaming tree? walts original dreaming tree…. well, its finally done. true, it was not in good shape at all when we saw it last september, but a storm has finished her off…

 - and (thank goodness!) SON of the dreaming tree - planted close by, from a shoot of the dreaming tree and watered with water from WDW and soil from the world. how cool is that?

 

it’s deja vu all over again?

soooo…. is this countdown actually going to deliver on it’s timeline (see below)? 

yawn. i hope so…….. let’s see if mr. finch is more timely than the BOD of Disney….. i wonder if i’m working that day…..

i got my membership card!

so, while all my pals are busy bragging about their new club affiliation, i can now brag about mine!

it’s my official blood donor card! as most of you know, my friend tairy, over at little red’s writing hood & disney tidbits, is doing this fabulous and innovative charity drive for 2009 -

 

i am eligible to give blood again during tracefest so, upon my return, i shall attempt to donate again. fittingly, apropos of tairy, i am looking into a donation process called “double red”…

dreams

in my dream last night, i lived…i’m not sure where, and there was an epcot park on the top of my building. one of those disney’s best kept secret deals i am sure.

in the dream, i remembered jennifer’s advice about not being disappointed by the epcot lobby. so i was reminding myself of this as i was admitted, from the apartment hall, through a door, into what looked liked a gigantic somewhat empty clinique cosmetic sales counter. many many opportunities to put your own face into a star wars picture (not epcot) and buy knick knacks (any disney park).

i looked to my right and saw that, on the rooftop, which was open to the sales area and apparently not visible from the human world on the street, were rides. being a dream of course, these were not epcot rides, but i am thinking more like paradise pier area type stuff. as i passed along the queue, i heard a guest tell a cast member “you should really put this place on a map!” the CM agreed.

oh, and maggie could come. only she was a pekingese.

funny how people and things appear when they are the most relevant.

dear kool-aid drinkers

not that i am bitter, but still haven’t gotten an email from the D23 website, despite having “signed up” several months ago. perhaps all y’alls membership fees shall go towards improving the disney.com IT department.

just sayin’.

yes – the D23 cult is making my eyes all pin-wheelie and peer pressure weighs heavily upon me.

AND YET I NEVER HAVE RECEIVED ANY EMAIL OR ANNOUNCEMENT TO ME PERSONALLY FROM THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY THOUGH I SIGNED UP FOR THE “ARE YOU 23?” COUNTDOWN.

BRAVO SIERRA

so by now any disney freak worth their salt has been engaging in discussion about “what is 23?” i’ve seen the gamut from “it’s a joke”, “must be some imagineer’s kid’s birthday today” to “its the next club 33″ and “it’s the new mousefest”.

hmmmm. ok.

well, i happened to be off today and actually wasted a few minutes of my life to stare at the 23 ticker thats been going off for god knows how long… and then i got this:

 

woot! haha. NOT.

i’m annoyed. i’m annoyed and although i am betting that i will probably shell out the $$ for this membership (especially if that is the only way to get some of the cool looking merchon the site-which does seem to be the case), i’m pissed.

i put my goofy little email on their roster. the magazine is already on newstands (for a lovely $15.95 per), FAQs and inserts and info is already out there. oh and MF was cancelled. of course, there is speculation about…. perhaps a corporate influence, take over…whatever of the entity once known as mousefest TM. and what was the point of signing up or paying any attention to yet ANOTHER disney moneygrab? meh.

i guess i can get the honor of getting to buy expensive stuff and only pay 75 bucks as opposed to next year when it’ll be 89.99. then 101 (like the dalmatians).
