meet the real ashley!

 

i say the “real” ashley, becase the TDC trio lunched at le cellier that afternoon and our server was either named sara and had on a nametag that said ashley or vice versa, but i digress…

miss ashley, above, was working the photo pass beat during our SWW. she was, as you would expect, super helpful, and took some great photos of jenn, the watchamacallit and myself with the photo pass and on my camera as well. i noticed first that her name tag is from kentucky.

“where is lueville (LOO-ville)?” i asked (near whoville?). she laughed and explained… she said she told the name tag making people where she was from, and thats what they wrote.

as one who lived in louisville for a few years, i can attest to the fact that, phonetically, her nametag is probably correct. my usual phone conversations would go something like this:

“address?”

“..(blah blah blah).. [phonetic pronunciation emphasis mine] LOO-UH-VULL”

“where?”

“LOO-EEY-VILLE”

“huh?”

“LOO-ISS-VILLE”

“can you spell that?”
